HOT TIP – Incorporating Colour Into Your Wedding

Pantone has released its ‘Colour of the Year’ for 2019, and it is ‘Living Coral’. A gorgeous, warm, fun tone that inspires thoughts of spring, summer, happiness, and love… so basically, it’s PERFECT for weddings!

It’s not always easy to incorporate a colour as a theme for your big day, as it’s easy to overdo it and no one wants that kind of intensity in their wedding photos. You will be looking at them for the rest of your life after all! But it can be done, and if it’s a colour that you love, then here are our top 3 tips to bring that POP to your day.

1. INVITATIONS AND STATIONERY
What’s the first impression your guests will have of your wedding? No, it’s not what the room looks like, or even how the ceremony is styled… it’s actually something that they see weeks and maybe even months before the big day arrives. It’s your invites! If you wants to include a colour as part of your big day, we don’t recommend using a coloured paper for your invitations (as that’s a LOT to take in when you open an envelope) but instead, think about little accents you could include, or maybe changing the font colour for some of the detailed wording; such as your names, or the date.

2. FLORALS
Flowers are nature’s painting palette. They come in all sorts of hues, textures, sizes… and different versions of them are available at all times of the year. Since florals are used in bridal party bouquets and button holes, as well as on tables and around your venue, these are a great and natural way to incorporate colour into your wedding, without it seeming forced or over the top.

3. FABRIC AND ACCESSORIES
Ok, bear with us on this one. We don’t necessarily mean dressing your entire bridal party in block colours, but do consider little fabric accents to outfits, or even on your tables. Having napery in a different colour to white can really change the feel of an entire room, and accessorizing your bridal party in shoes, ties, socks or jewellery in a bright colour really creates a sense of fun and whimsy to the occasion.

So there you have it – some fun, easy, and classy ways to add colour to your wedding, and give you and your partner an aesthetic worth remembering.
